"Our life is frittered away by detail.
Simplify, simplify, simplify!
I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumbnail."

~ Henry David Thoreau, Walden

One of the ways in which to simplify your life is to simply do less.  Sounds crazy right?  I would have thought so pre-pandemic, as I prided myself on being a great multitasker, but I was also always stressed. We had packed schedules, a full house, and too much going on at all times... and it made for a crowded mind.

I had been slowly working less after having children, but never thought I would be a stay-at-home mother until COVID hit.  Then within one week, the choice was clear and easy.  My children's health came first, there was no one else to take care of them with schools and daycare closed, we have no extended family nearby, so of course I had to quit my part-time job.  Turns out it this was the BEST DESCISION for our family!

In cutting back, we have made a whole new schedule that is sooo much nicer!  Sleeping in until 7:00am for the kids is one of the best benefits.  Spending more time playing and having most meals together have also been great; I truly know my children now.  COVID has been a blessing in disguise for our family.

Look into your own life... are there places for editing out things, or adding more of nothing? Time to just be, enjoy, live a more relaxed and simple life...

Simplify

The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.
